Madeline Tsui

Ms. Madeline Tsui has studied the guzheng for 16 years. She holds a Master of Arts in Music Education from The Education University of Hong Kong. She was the leader of the Greenery Yun Yin Guzheng Ensemble and received the Talent Development Scholarship from the Hong Kong Education Bureau for three consecutive years starting in 2016. She was also awarded the Outstanding Instructor Award at the International Music Competition in 2019 and 2020, as well as at the 7th International Guzheng Competition.

With over eight years of teaching experience, Ms. Tsui has served as a guzheng instructor in primary and secondary schools, community centers, and music institutions. Her students range from preschool children to school students, adults, and retirees. Many of her students have achieved excellent results in competitions, including the Champion of the Senior Guzheng Solo category at the 72nd Hong Kong Schools Music Festival, the Champion of the Junior Guzheng Solo category at the 71st Hong Kong Schools Music Festival, the Silver Award in the Guzheng Ensemble category at the 2019 International Music Competition, and the Champion of the Seedling Group at the Tuen Mun District Chinese and Western Instrumental Competition.

Currently, she is committed to promoting guzheng culture in the UK through performances and teaching. She showcases the instrument’s beauty at schools, business events, and cultural festivals while inspiring students of all ages. Through her work, she hopes to preserve and share the rich heritage of guzheng music with new audiences.
